Interesting remains of inspector's cartouche on rigth side of grip R.H.K.W in large oval. This is of Captain Robert H.K. Whiteley. On left side clear cartouche GGS of George G. Saunders. According the book: U.S Military Arms Inspectors marks of Daum and Pate Robert H.K. Whiteley was present for the final inspection of only 500 colt 1860 Army revolvers on August 15 1861. All in the 8000 serial numbers range.
