This gun was invented in 1878 and probably no more than couple hundred were made  with maybe a dozen surviving examples. Gun was loaded by slide on top of frame which also retains fixed rear sight, The cartridges are placed in cups which are mounted on an endless chain and are brought successively to the barrel and discharged. The charge of fulminate or quick powder may form an integral part of the hollow projectile, which is placed in the cup on the chain
